RELX Infinity Plus review — the rechargeable pod device in Dubai

RELX Infinity vs Infinity Plus vs Infinity 2: Which to Buy?

Overview

RELX Infinity vs Infinity 2, with the Infinity Plus in between, is mainly a choice about battery, charging speed and power control. All three are slim, draw-activated, mouth-to-lung pod devices with sealed pods. The Infinity 2 adds a 440 mAh battery, charging in roughly 20–30 minutes and three power modes; the Infinity and Infinity Plus share a 380 mAh battery, around 45-minute charging and a single power level, with the Plus dropping the button for a cleaner look. At Vape Store Web they cost AED 115, AED 125 and AED 140 respectively. This comparison sets out the differences and tells you which one to buy. For adults aged 18 and over only.

RELX Infinity vs Infinity 2 comparison: RELX Infinity Plus pod kit

Quick answer

In the RELX Infinity vs Infinity 2 debate, the Infinity 2 wins for most people. It costs AED 25 more than the original Infinity and AED 15 more than the Infinity Plus, and for that you get a bigger battery, much faster charging and three power modes you’ll actually use. Those are everyday improvements, not spec-sheet extras.

The Infinity Plus makes sense if you want the simplest possible device: no buttons, one power level, nothing to set. It’s also the choice if you already own a stock of RELX Pod Pro pods and don’t want to switch to Pod Pro 2.

The original RELX Infinity is the budget option of the three. It does the core job well, a reliable tight draw with sealed pods, but it has the oldest design, slower charging and the fewest features. Buy it if price is the deciding factor.

If you’re still unsure, the rest of this guide explains each difference in detail. You can also see the whole range, including the Essential and Artisan, on our RELX brand page.

Battery and charging

The Infinity 2’s 440 mAh battery is about 15% bigger than the 380 mAh cell shared by the Infinity and Infinity Plus. In daily use that’s the difference between comfortably lasting the day and needing a top-up in the late afternoon for a regular vaper.

Charging speed is the bigger change. The Infinity 2 reaches a full charge over USB Type-C in roughly 20 to 30 minutes, while the older two take around 45 minutes. A 10-minute top-up on the Infinity 2 buys noticeably more vaping time than the same top-up on the others.

Battery life also depends on power mode. The Infinity 2’s Eco mode stretches the charge further; Boost uses it faster. The Infinity and Infinity Plus have one fixed output, so their battery life is predictable but can’t be extended.

All three charge over USB Type-C, so a phone charger works. Avoid charging in a hot car or in direct sunlight, which is hard on any lithium battery in UAE summer heat.

Power modes

Power modes are the Infinity 2’s defining feature. Eco runs at about 5.5 W for a cooler, lighter draw and better battery life. Smooth, at about 6.5 W, matches the feel of the original Infinity. Boost, at about 8 W, gives warmer, denser vapour and a stronger throat hit from the same pod.

Why does this matter? Different flavours taste best at different power levels. Fruit and ice flavours often taste brighter on Smooth or Boost, while tobacco and dessert flavours can taste harsh on Boost. Being able to adjust means you get more from each pod.

The Infinity and Infinity Plus have a single fixed output similar to the Infinity 2’s Smooth mode. That’s not a problem if you’re happy with how they vape; it simply means you can’t fine-tune it.

One catch: the Infinity 2’s modes need RELX Pod Pro 2 cartridges. With older Pod Pro pods, the Infinity 2 is reported to run at a single default level. Our RELX pod compatibility guide explains why.

Design, buttons and feedback

All three share RELX’s slim stick shape and a magnetic pod connection, and all fire automatically when you inhale. The differences are in the details.

The original Infinity has a single button and a simple status light. The Infinity Plus removes the button entirely for a smooth, minimal body, and adds RELX’s Smartpace vibration, which gently buzzes after a set number of puffs in a session. The Infinity 2 brings back one side button, used to change mode and check the battery, alongside a four-bar battery LED, a colour-coded mode light and haptic feedback.

The Infinity 2 also moves to an elliptical aluminium alloy body with a satin finish, measuring about 112 × 23 × 10 mm and weighing about 36 g. Its semi-transparent pods let you see how much e-liquid is left.

If you like having no controls at all, the Infinity Plus is the neatest. If you want to see your battery level at a glance and adjust your vape, the Infinity 2 is more practical.

Pods and running costs

The Infinity and Infinity Plus take RELX Pod Pro, sold at Vape Store Web in packs of two for AED 50. The Infinity 2 takes RELX Pod Pro 2, sold as single pods from AED 30. Both are about 1.9 ml, pre-filled and sealed, with a ceramic coil.

Per pod, Pod Pro in a 2-pack works out slightly cheaper than single Pod Pro 2 pods. Over a month the difference is small next to the device price gap, so it rarely decides the choice on its own.

What will change your running costs more is how you use the Infinity 2’s modes. Boost vaporises more liquid per puff and empties pods faster; Eco does the opposite. On the single-mode Infinity and Infinity Plus, pod life is steadier.

Whichever device you choose, check the nicotine strength of each pod flavour on its product page. The UAE’s standard for electronic nicotine products caps e-liquid at 20 mg/ml (Tobacco Control Laws).
