Vaporesso Luxe X3 review — the pod kit in Dubai

Vaporesso Luxe Series Compared: Which Luxe Should You Buy?

Overview

The Vaporesso Luxe range splits into two families: the compact Luxe Q pod kits (Luxe Q, QS and Q3) for simple mouth-to-lung vaping, and the more powerful Luxe X pod mods (Luxe X, X Pro, X2, X3 and XR Max) with adjustable wattage up to 40–80 W for mouth-to-lung, restricted and direct-to-lung styles. Vape Store Web stocks eight Luxe models from AED 99 to AED 149, with delivery within 2 hours in Dubai. This guide compares battery, power, pods and price across the range and tells you which Luxe to buy for the way you vape. Figures come from Vaporesso and our product listings. For adults aged 18 and over only.

Vaporesso Luxe series: Luxe X3 pod kit with adjustable wattage

Luxe Q vs Luxe X: the two families

The easiest way to understand the Vaporesso Luxe range is to split it in two. The Luxe Q family is Vaporesso’s compact, low-power line. The devices are pocket-sized, fire when you inhale, and use small refillable pods of 2–3 ml. They’re designed for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping with salt-nicotine e-liquid, much like a cigarette draw.

The Luxe X family is bigger and more flexible. These are pod mods: they have larger batteries, adjustable wattage (up to 40 W on most models and 80 W on the XR Max) and adjustable airflow. With the right pod they handle MTL, restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) and full direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping, which means they work with both salt nic and low-strength freebase e-liquid.

Choosing the family comes first. If you want something small that you never adjust, a Luxe Q is the right starting point. If you want bigger clouds, more battery or the option to change how the vape feels, look at a Luxe X. Our guide to DTL vs MTL vaping explains the two styles if you’re not sure which suits you.

Both families use different pods, which don’t cross over, so it’s worth deciding before you stock up. Our Vaporesso pods compatibility guide covers which pods fit which device.

Luxe Q, QS and Q3

The Luxe Q is the simplest Vaporesso Luxe: a slim zinc-alloy body, a 1000 mAh battery, draw-activated firing and a three-colour battery light. It recognises the pod you fit and sets the power automatically, so there’s nothing to adjust. At AED 99 it’s the cheapest way into the Luxe range.

The Luxe QS keeps the same 1000 mAh battery and 2 ml pod format in a refined body. Vaporesso lists Luxe Q pods as compatible with both the Luxe Q and Luxe QS (Vaporesso Luxe Q pods), so you can switch between them without changing your pod stock.

The Luxe Q3 is the step up. It has a larger 1450 mAh battery, up to 20 W from Vaporesso’s AXON chip, USB-C 2A charging and a 3 ml side-fill pod. That extra headroom lets it run a slightly looser restricted-lung draw as well as classic MTL.

Choose the Luxe Q family if you want a small device, mainly vape 20 mg salt nic, and don’t want settings. Our reviews of the Luxe Q and Luxe QS cover each in more detail.

Luxe X, X Pro, X2 and X3

The Luxe X models are where the Vaporesso Luxe range becomes more flexible. The original Luxe X pairs a 1500 mAh battery with 5–40 W adjustable output, adjustable airflow and 5 ml bottom-fill pods. With a higher-resistance pod it vapes like an MTL device; with a 0.3–0.4 Ω pod it produces direct-to-lung clouds.

The Luxe X Pro keeps the 1500 mAh battery and 5–40 W range and adds a Smart Mode that sets the wattage for the pod you fit. The Luxe X2 moves up to a 2000 mAh battery for longer days. The Luxe X3 is the newest: a 2600 mAh battery, 5–45 W output and a 0.8-inch colour screen.

All of these take the same Luxe X pods. Vaporesso lists its current Luxe X pod as compatible with the Luxe X, X2 and X3, and notes it also works on earlier devices such as the Luxe X Pro (Vaporesso Luxe X pod). That makes upgrading within the family easy.

For most people who want one device for both pod-style and cloud vaping, the Luxe X3 is the best value at AED 130: the biggest battery and a screen for less than the X2. Read our reviews of the Luxe X, Luxe X Pro and Luxe X2 for more.

Luxe XR Max: the most powerful

The Luxe XR Max is the heavyweight of the Vaporesso Luxe range. It has a 2800 mAh battery, up to 80 W from the AXON chip, a small OLED display and a 5 ml pod. The key difference from the Luxe X models is the coil system: the XR Max uses Luxe XR pods with replaceable GTX mesh coils.

Replaceable coils change the running costs. Instead of throwing away a whole pod when the coil wears out, you swap just the coil and keep the pod. GTX coils come in a wide range of resistances, from low-ohm mesh for big direct-to-lung clouds up to 1.2 Ω for tighter mouth-to-lung vaping.

The trade-off is size. The XR Max is noticeably chunkier than a Luxe X, and 80 W is more power than most pod users need. It suits vapers who mainly vape freebase e-liquid direct-to-lung and want long battery life and coil choice. The newer Luxe XR Max 2 is currently out of stock with us.

If you mainly vape salt nic in a tight MTL draw, the XR Max is more device than you need, and a Luxe Q or Luxe X will be lighter and simpler. Browse Vaporesso GTX coils for the XR Max.

Pods, coils and running costs

Each Vaporesso Luxe family uses its own pods. Luxe Q pods are 2 ml refillable pods with built-in mesh coils, sold at Vape Store Web in packs of four (Luxe Q pods, AED 40). When the coil wears out, you replace the whole pod.

Luxe X pods hold 5 ml, also with built-in coils, and come in resistances from about 0.3 Ω to 0.8 Ω for different styles. We stock Luxe X series pods and Luxe X/XR pod cartridges. Luxe XR pods take separate GTX coils, which usually works out cheaper over time.

Luxe X and Luxe Q pods are different shapes and don’t swap between families. A retailer guide also warns that Luxe X or XR pods won’t fit the narrower Luxe Q3 pod slot. Always check before you order; our Vaporesso pods compatibility guide has a full chart.

Running costs depend mostly on your e-liquid. A Luxe Q with salt nic uses little liquid per day, while a Luxe X or XR Max running direct-to-lung uses much more. Match the liquid to the device: 20 mg salt nic for Luxe Q, low-strength freebase for DTL on a Luxe X or XR Max. Our freebase vs salt nic guide explains why.

Which Vaporesso Luxe should you buy?

For a first pod kit or a simple MTL vape, buy the Luxe Q (AED 99), or the Luxe Q3 (AED 120) if you want more battery and a little more power. For one device that handles both MTL and bigger clouds, the Luxe X3 (AED 130) is the best all-rounder in the Vaporesso Luxe range. For direct-to-lung vaping with replaceable coils and the longest battery life, choose the Luxe XR Max (AED 149).

All Luxe models are refillable, so you’ll also need e-liquid. Check the nicotine strength on each product page; the UAE’s standard for electronic nicotine products caps e-liquid at 20 mg/ml (Tobacco Control Laws). Our best e-liquid brands in UAE guide lists options.

Every Luxe device delivers within 2 hours in Dubai (depending on traffic) and within 24 hours to the other emirates. See the full range on our Vaporesso brand page.
