SMOK Nord 50W Pod

SMOK Nord Series Guide: Every Model Compared

Overview

The SMOK Nord series is SMOK’s family of refillable pod mods, and the models differ mainly in battery, maximum power and, most importantly, which coils they take. At Vape Store Web we stock the Nord 2 and Nord C from AED 99, and the Nord 50W and Nord 5 at AED 149. The Nord 2 is the classic all-rounder, the Nord C adds a bigger battery in a slimmer body, the Nord 50W is the most flexible thanks to three pod types, and the Nord 5 is the 80 W cloud machine. This guide compares them side by side, explains the coil families, and tells you which Nord to buy. Specs come from our product listings and independent guides. For adults aged 18 and over only.

SMOK Nord series: SMOK Nord 50W pod kit with three pod types

SMOK Nord models compared

Every Nord is a refillable pod mod with adjustable wattage, a replaceable coil and a small screen. That combination lets one device handle both mouth-to-lung (MTL) and direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping, depending on the coil you fit. The table shows how the models we stock compare.

Model Battery Max power Coils AED
Nord 2 1500 mAh 40 W Nord and RPM 99
Nord C 1800 mAh 50 W RPM 2 99
Nord 50W 1800 mAh 50 W Nord, RPM and LP2 (three pods) 149
Nord 5 2000 mAh 80 W RPM 3 149

Nord 2: the classic

The SMOK Nord 2 is the model most people picture when they think of a Nord. It has a 1500 mAh battery, adjustable output up to 40 W and a small side screen showing wattage and battery level. Pods hold about 4.5 ml, so you refill less often than with a basic pod kit.

Its big strength is coil choice. The Nord 2 accepts both the original Nord coils and SMOK’s RPM coils, using the matching pod. Nord coils include higher-resistance options for a tight MTL draw with 20 mg salt nic, while RPM coils span roughly 0.3–1.2 Ω and cover everything from MTL to restricted lung hits.

At AED 99, the Nord 2 is the cheapest way into the Nord family and a sensible first pod mod for someone moving up from a simple pod kit. It isn’t the newest model, and 40 W is less than the latest Nords offer, but for most MTL and light DTL vaping it’s plenty.

Nord C: bigger battery, slimmer body

The Nord C is a newer, slimmer take on the Nord. It raises the battery to 1800 mAh and the maximum output to 50 W, in a gently curved body with a top-fill pod. Our listing describes the pod as 2 ml with adjustable airflow.

The Nord C uses SMOK’s RPM 2 coils, according to both independent guides we checked. RPM 2 coils include a 0.16 Ω mesh coil for direct-to-lung vaping at 25–50 W and a 0.6 Ω DC MTL coil for 12–25 W, so the Nord C can switch between big clouds and a tighter draw.

Because it uses a different coil family from the Nord 2, check your coils before switching models. If you already have a stock of RPM 2 coils from another SMOK device, the Nord C is a natural fit.

At AED 99, the same price as the Nord 2, the Nord C is the better choice if you want longer battery life and don’t need the Nord 2’s older coil options. We stock RPM 2 coils and RPM 2 pods.

Nord 50W: the most flexible

The Nord 50W is the Swiss army knife of the range. It pairs an 1800 mAh battery and 50 W output with three different pods in the box, according to our listing: an LP2 pod (4 ml) for LP2 coils, a Nord pod (4.5 ml) for Nord coils, and an RPM pod (4 ml) for RPM coils.

That means one device can run three coil families. LP2 coils, such as the 0.23 Ω mesh (20–45 W) and 0.6 Ω DC (15–25 W), are designed for direct-to-lung and restricted lung vaping. Nord coils cover classic MTL. RPM coils sit in between. If you like to experiment, or you share coils with other SMOK devices, the Nord 50W saves you buying a second device.

The trade-off is price and a little complexity: at AED 149 it costs more than the Nord 2 and Nord C, and you need to match each coil to the right pod. Replacement pods are sold as SMOK Nord 50W pods (RPM, Nord or LP2).

Our SMOK Nord 50W review covers how it performs in daily use.

Nord 5: 80 W for big clouds

The Nord 5 is the most powerful Nord we stock. It has a 2000 mAh battery and up to 80 W, and uses SMOK’s RPM 3 mesh coils, which are designed for sub-ohm direct-to-lung vaping. Independent guides list a 5 ml pod (2 ml in TPD regions), and our kit listing uses 0.15 and 0.23 Ω mesh coils.

That makes the Nord 5 a cloud device first. It suits vapers who mainly use low-strength freebase e-liquid (3–6 mg) and want dense vapour and strong flavour. It’s less suited to 20 mg salt nic, which feels harsh at high power; for that style, the Nord 2 or Nord C with an MTL coil is better.

At AED 149, the Nord 5 costs the same as the Nord 50W but trades flexibility for power. Replacement coils are SMOK RPM 3 coils.

SMOK Nord coils and pods explained

The most common mistake with the Nord family is buying the wrong coils. Each model accepts specific coil families, and each coil family needs its matching pod. Here’s the simple version, based on independent compatibility guides and our listings.

  • Nord coils fit the Nord 2 and Nord 50W (in the Nord pod). We stock Nord coils in 0.6 Ω mesh, 0.8 Ω DC MTL and 1.4 Ω ceramic and regular.
  • RPM coils fit the Nord 2, Nord 50W (RPM pod). We stock RPM coils from 0.3 to 1.2 Ω.
  • RPM 2 coils fit the Nord C.
  • LP2 coils fit the Nord 50W (LP2 pod). See LP2 coils.
  • RPM 3 coils fit the Nord 5.

When in doubt, read the coil family printed on your current coil, or message us on WhatsApp with a photo. Match the e-liquid to the coil too: 20 mg salt nic for MTL coils, low-strength freebase for sub-ohm coils. Our freebase vs salt nic guide explains why.

Which SMOK Nord should you buy?

For a first pod mod or mainly MTL vaping, the SMOK Nord 2 (AED 99) is the classic choice. If you want more battery life for the same money, pick the Nord C (AED 99). If you want to try different coil families on one device, the Nord 50W (AED 149) is the most flexible. For big clouds at up to 80 W, choose the Nord 5 (AED 149).

Every Nord is refillable, so you’ll need e-liquid as well. Check the nicotine strength on each product page; the UAE’s standard for electronic nicotine products caps e-liquid at 20 mg/ml (Tobacco Control Laws). Weighing SMOK against another brand? Read our SMOK vs Voopoo comparison.

Which SMOK Nord is best for beginners?

The Nord 2 or Nord C. Both are simple to use, cost AED 99 and work well with a higher-resistance MTL coil and 20 mg salt nic.

Do all SMOK Nord devices use the same coils?

No. The Nord 2 takes Nord and RPM coils, the Nord C takes RPM 2, the Nord 50W takes Nord, RPM and LP2, and the Nord 5 takes RPM 3.

Which Nord has the biggest battery?

The Nord 5, at 2000 mAh. Of the AED 99 models, the Nord C has the larger battery at 1800 mAh.

Can I use salt nic in a Nord?

Yes, with an MTL coil of about 0.6 Ω or higher. With low-ohm sub-ohm coils, use low-strength freebase instead.
